Ground & Pound Coffee is an award-winning independent café, cocktail bar and community arts space in Alpharetta, Georgia. Founded by veteran stunt performer Sophia Crawford, Ground & Pound brings together specialty coffee, good food, live entertainment and the welcoming energy of a neighborhood second living room.
Ground & Pound Named Best Local Coffee Shop for the Third Time
Ground & Pound Coffee has been voted Best Local Coffee Shop in North Atlanta in Appen Media’s 2026 Best of North Atlanta awards.
The café previously won the honor in 2023 and 2024 and finished as runner-up in 2025—placing among North Atlanta’s top two local coffee shops for four consecutive years.
These honors belong to the customers, performers, artists and team members who have made Ground & Pound part of their daily routines and special occasions.
From Hollywood Stunts to Coffee and Community
Before opening Ground & Pound, Sophia Crawford built an international career as a stunt performer. She doubled the Pink Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and pop icons Madonna, Shakira and Britney Spears.
Today, Sophia brings that same energy and creativity to Ground & Pound—a neighborhood café that serves coffee, tea, pastries and food alongside boutique wine, local beer and craft cocktails. The café also hosts open mic nights, trivia, stand-up comedy and live music while giving local performers and artists a welcoming place to share their work.

“This is hands down the best coffee I ever had as a coffee drinker! I drove from Virginia to metro Atlanta to check out this coffee shop and I order a coffee and bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was toasted perfectly and coffee OMG kept me awake! One of the co-owners I met Sophia is so down to earth and sweet personality. I highly recommend anyone from metro Atlanta or out of state to check this place!"

“Went for breakfast because they have gluten-free/vegan options for my and filling breakfast sandwiches for my husband.
I got a sweet potato chocolate chip brown sugar muffin that was to die for. He got a bacon egg and cheese croissant. I loved the lavender chai latte I got too.
It has really fun 90s vibes, great music, and super friendly staff."
